We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Anesthesia Technician to join our anesthesiology team at SDDM Hospital Jammu. Working alongside our experienced anesthesiologists, you will provide critical technical support for anesthesia delivery across our modern operation theatres. This role is essential to ensuring patient safety and optimal surgical outcomes across multiple specialties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, calibrate, and maintain anesthesia machines, ventilators, and monitoring equipment for surgical procedures
• Assist anesthesiologists with patient preparation, positioning, and anesthesia induction procedures
• Monitor anesthesia equipment performance and patient vital signs during surgical procedures
• Maintain accurate inventory of anesthesia drugs, gases, and medical supplies for all operation theatres
• Perform equipment safety checks, calibration procedures, and preventive maintenance protocols
• Assist with airway management including intubation equipment preparation and support
• Clean, sterilize, and properly store anesthesia equipment and accessories after each use
• Support anesthesiologists during emergency situations and resuscitation procedures
• Document equipment readings, maintenance activities, and safety compliance records
• Coordinate with biomedical engineering for equipment repairs and technical support
• Ensure compliance with anesthesia safety protocols and infection control standards
• Provide technical support for specialized procedures including cardiac, neurological, and pediatric surgeries

Qualifications:

• Required Education: Diploma in Anesthesia Technology or equivalent certification from recognized institution.
• Professional Registration: Valid registration with State Medical Technology Council or equivalent certification.
• Experience: 2-4 years of hands-on experience in anesthesia technology or operation theatre environment.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in anesthesia machine operation, ventilator management, and patient monitoring systems.
• Equipment Knowledge: Understanding of anesthesia gases, delivery systems, and emergency airway equipment.
• Safety Protocols: Knowledge of anesthesia safety standards, equipment maintenance, and emergency procedures.
• Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Communication: Good communication skills in Hindi, English, and ability to work with surgical teams.
• Personal Qualities: High attention to detail, reliability, calm under pressure, and commitment to patient safety.

Anesthesia Equipment & Technology:

• Anesthesia Delivery Systems: Modern anesthesia machines with advanced ventilators, gas delivery systems, and comprehensive monitoring capabilities.
• Patient Monitoring: Multi-parameter monitors for ECG, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, end-tidal CO2, and temperature monitoring.
• Airway Management: Complete range of intubation equipment, airway devices, and emergency ventilation systems.
• Specialized Equipment: Nerve stimulators, ultrasound machines for regional anesthesia, and specialized monitoring for cardiac and neurological procedures.

Surgical Specialties Support:

Provide anesthesia technology support across diverse surgical specialties:

• Orthopedic Surgery: Complex fracture repairs, joint replacements, and trauma surgeries
• Gynecological Surgery: Routine and complex gynecologic procedures including laparoscopic surgeries
• General Surgery: Abdominal, thoracic, and emergency surgical procedures
• ENT Surgery: Specialized airway management for ear, nose, and throat procedures
• Laparoscopic Surgery: Minimally invasive procedures requiring specialized anesthesia techniques
• Emergency Surgery: Trauma and urgent surgical interventions requiring rapid anesthesia preparation

• Equipment Maintenance: Daily safety checks, preventive maintenance schedules, and performance verification protocols
• Documentation: Comprehensive record-keeping for equipment usage, maintenance, and safety compliance
• Infection Control: Strict sterilization protocols and contamination prevention measures
• Emergency Preparedness: Rapid response to equipment failures and emergency situations
