We are seeking a skilled and experienced IT Engineer to manage and maintain our comprehensive healthcare technology infrastructure at SDDM Hospital Jammu. As J&K’s leading multi-specialty hospital with advanced digital systems, we require a dedicated professional to ensure seamless operation of our Hospital Information Systems (HIS), Electronic Health Records (EHR), and medical equipment networks across our 50-bed facility with 4 operation theatres and 6 critical care beds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain Hospital Information System (HIS) and Electronic Health Records (EHR) software applications.
- Provide technical support for medical equipment networks including monitors, imaging systems, and diagnostic devices.
- Maintain hospital network infrastructure, servers, and database systems ensuring 24/7 uptime.
- Implement and monitor cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive patient data and comply with healthcare regulations.
- Support operation theatre IT systems including surgical navigation, monitoring equipment, and digital imaging.
- Manage backup systems and disaster recovery procedures for critical hospital data.
- Provide end-user support for doctors, nurses, and administrative staff across all departments.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and network devices throughout the hospital.
- Coordinate with medical equipment vendors for integration and maintenance of specialized healthcare technology.
- Monitor system performance and implement upgrades to ensure optimal functionality.
- Maintain IT inventory, procurement records, and ensure compliance with healthcare IT standards.
- Provide training to hospital staff on new software applications and digital systems.
Qualifications:
- Required Education: B.Tech/B.E. in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Electronics Engineering.
- Alternative Education: BCA/MCA with strong technical background and relevant experience.
- Experience: 2-4 years in IT support, preferably in healthcare or hospital environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows/Linux servers, networking protocols, database management (MySQL, Oracle).
- Healthcare IT Knowledge: Experience with Hospital Management Systems, EHR software, and medical device integration.
- Certifications: CCNA, Microsoft certified, or healthcare IT certifications preferred.
- Programming Skills: Knowledge of programming languages (Python, Java, SQL) advantageous.
- Security Knowledge: Understanding of healthcare data security, HIPAA compliance, and cybersecurity principles.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills in Hindi, English, and ability to train non-technical staff.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with ability to work under pressure.
Technical Environment:
- Hospital Systems: Work with comprehensive healthcare IT infrastructure including patient management systems, billing software, inventory management, and clinical applications.
- Medical Equipment Integration: Support for diagnostic equipment, patient monitoring systems, laboratory information systems, and radiology (PACS/RIS) systems.
- Network Infrastructure: Manage LAN/WAN networks, wireless systems, VPN connections, and ensure seamless connectivity across all hospital departments.
- Security Requirements: Implement and maintain robust cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive patient data and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
