We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Operation Theatre Technician to join our surgical team at SDDM Hospital Jammu. Our facility features 4 modern operation theatres supporting various surgical specialties including orthopedics, gynecology, laparoscopic surgery, ENT, and general surgery. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth operation of surgical procedures while maintaining the highest standards of sterility and patient safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain operation theatres for various surgical procedures including orthopedic, gynecologic, laparoscopic, and ENT surgeries.
• Set up and arrange surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies according to specific surgical requirements.
• Assist surgeons and nursing staff during surgical procedures by providing instruments and maintaining sterile field.
• Operate and maintain surgical equipment including electrocautery units, suction devices, and monitors.
• Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols and maintain aseptic techniques throughout procedures.
• Clean, sterilize, and properly store surgical instruments and equipment after each use.
• Monitor and maintain adequate stock levels of surgical supplies and report requirements to supervisors.
• Assist in positioning patients safely for surgical procedures and ensure proper draping.
• Document surgical procedures and maintain accurate records as required.
• Respond to emergency surgical cases and ensure rapid theatre preparation when needed.
• Participate in quality assurance programs and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Required Education: Diploma in Operation Theatre Technology (OTT) or equivalent certification from recognized institution.
• Alternative Education: Certificate course in OT Technology with relevant experience.
• Experience: Fresh graduates welcome; 1-2 years of OT experience preferred.
• Technical Knowledge: Understanding of surgical procedures, sterile techniques, and medical equipment operation.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, excellent hand-eye coordination.
• Communication: Good communication skills in Hindi, English, and local languages.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, lift equipment, and work in sterile environments.
• Personal Qualities: Disciplined, responsible, team-oriented, and committed to patient safety.
